Tool and Die Maker 

This position requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair dies while in the press and/or perform die removal and repair work on the bench.  The goal is to minimize down-time and optimize production levels and part quality.  This would involve the repair and maintenance of progressive, transfer and blanking dies.

 Qualifications required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 12 months of machine tool technology training or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with metal stamping dies
  • Experience welding common steel and tooling steel is required
  • Ability to operate tool room equipment (Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders, etc.)
  • Automotive stamping experience is preferred
  • Must be able to read blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make or modify existing tooling
  • Must perform complex machine work involved with the manufacture of gauging, fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing and engineering functions
  • Ability to troubleshoot progressive dies in a manufacturing environment
  • Must work to close tolerances ensuring quality workmanship on all tool, gages and fixtures
  • Must work closely with Engineering to ensure all equipment builds are built to exact specifications
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Manufacturing Engineer

Truform Manufacturing is currently seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer for its Dickson Tennessee Facility.

This position is a hands-on engineering and technical support function serving the engineering and manufacturing areas at Truform.  Tasks include process development, process documentation, sheet metal process development, sheet metal process documentation, plant layout, equipment specification, and production support. 

Qualifications required:

  • 3-years’ experience in Manufacturing engineering
  • 3-years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable experience
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in CAD, GD&T, and engineering software
  • Excellent attitude
  • Must maintain a valid driver license

 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Establish a working knowledge of the Truform Business System
  • Effectively communicate ideas, problems and solutions to all employees
  • Develop and maintain the plant layout based on input from all departments.
  • Develop work cell designs with a focus on streamlining operations with cost reductions
  • Develop process documentation and work instructions to support the plant operations
  • Develop sheetmetal process documentation to support fiber laser and CNC brake press operations
  • Assist with quoting sheetmetal fabrication work
  • Assist with tooling, automation, and equipment additions
  • Perform 5S activities in the plant and work areas to maintain work area cleanliness
  • Evaluate, modify, and implement cost reduction and improvement ideas
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions based on problem solving methods
  • Assist with developing accurate bills of materials for both new and current product
  • Assist with development of accurate ECN to track implementation of engineering changes
  • Assist other engineers with projects as necessary
  • Other job assignments as assigned

Position Summary:          This skilled position will primarily work as a production fabricator utilizing an Amada LCG 3015 Press Brake. This position will also work with Amada  Fiber Laser cutting equipment.

Qualifications required:

  • Ability to set up and operate the Amada LCG 3015 Press Brake
  • Ability to learn to operate Amada Fiber laser System
  • Ability to set up and safely utilize other fabrication equipment such as roll formers, Jigs, Fixtures, air tools, hand grinders, shears, spot welders, etc.
  • Ability to read and utilize part blueprints to produce finished assemblies.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic math
  • Basic ability to read and understand work instructions
  • Ability to make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic issues or seek assistance
  • Excellent record of attendance
  • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and accuracy of work performed
  • Ability to effectively implement or respond to change
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds

Qualifications desired:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MIG, TIG, Stick cosmetic hand welding capability

  • Receive components either purchased or produced from in house laser
  • Bend on CNC press brake as required per prints
  • Set up jigs and fixtures to assemble components as per prints
  • Hand MIG weld assemblies
  • Verify dimensions on all work performed
  • Package finished products as required
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
  • Account for time and work completed on a daily basis
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic issues
  • Follow all prescribed safety regulations
  • Follow preventative maintenance on machines as prescribed
  • Perform daily incoming audits / Process audits / Dock audits
  • Maintain an acceptable level of 5S in the fabrication area
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Truform Manufacturing is seeking an afternoon shift Press Operator to join our team! This position will be responsible for the daily setup and operation of a straight side progressive mechanical power press in a just-in-time environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate a mechanical press and coil feed line for routine established work
