Company History
The Sisler Manufacturing Group Holding Company, LP (SMG) was formed by Jon and Brett Sisler in 2012 as part of the Sisler Family re-organization. The purpose of the Holding Company formation was to support the acquisition of Truform Manufacturing and the subsequent business consolidation of American Hinge Technologies, LLC and Fuentes de Manufactura de Mexico, S. de R.L. The acquisition of Truform Manufacturing was strategic in nature and provided SMG with not only an Industry diversification, but also with extensive metal stamping and metal processing capabilities in order to execute the vertical integration strategy for Appliance Hinges in the USA. The following timeline identifies the major milestones and accomplishments of SMG since its 2012 inception.
2012
Sisler Manufacturing Group (SMG) formation and subsequent acquisition of Truform Manufacturing in Dickson, Tennessee.
2012
SMG Business Unit consolidation of American Hinge Technologies, LLC with Truform Manufacturing, LLC on the Dickson, Tennessee campus.
Prior to 2012
Truform Manufacturing initial TS 16949 Quality Certification achievement (2006). Re-certifications are current and ongoing today.
2012
SMG Adoption of the business-wide “Six (6) Disciplines” strategy development and execution methodology.
2013
SMG identification and solidification of a cost effective network of Asian tooling sources.
2014
SMG 1st facility expansion (20,000 square foot) in Dickson, Tennessee.
2014
SMG formal adoption of a business-wide 5S methodology.
2014
SMG significant additions of new Engineering and Quality Lab equipment & testing capabilities.
2015
SMG initiation of a new Business System software to centralize all data management and to strengthen its business infrastructure.
2015
SMG Strategic Alliance with Tian Yuan and Tian You with plant locations in both Taiwan and Vietnam.
2016
SMG equipment capacity expansion initiative for metal stamping and automated welding, incorporating new 330 ton and 660 ton Stamping presses and new MIG & robotic welding cells.
2017
SMG 2nd facility expansion (12,500 square foot – High Bay) in Dickson, Tennessee.
2017
SMG 3rd facility expansion (20,000 square foot – new Building) on the Dickson, Tennessee campus and the physical separation of the Appliance & Automotive business units.
2017
SMG resource commitment for a “New Product Development” segment within the Engineering organization. (i.e. New Product and Feature introductions for all markets being served).
2018
Truform Manufacturing successfully transfers to the new IATF 16949 certification while maintaining an ISO 9001 certification.
2018
American Hinge Technologies obtains ISO 9001 certification.
2019
SMG 4th and 5th facility expansions comprising 40,000 square feet of additions to building 2.
– 20,000 square foot high bay designed to accommodate future crane in 40 foot clear building
– 20,000 square foot low bay to accommodate new fabrication division
2019
Truform Manufacturing is awarded both of the very prestigious Magna supplier quality excellence and logistics excellence awards for 2018 year.
2019
Purchased new capital equipment to support Fabrication division including 6KW Amada Fiber Laser and 135 ton Amada press brake
2019
Truform Manufacturing launches their new fabrication division producing cosmetic appearance critical, TIG welded, griddles, fryers and smokers.
2020
Truform Manufacturing conducts an emergency relocation of the majority of work from a Nashville based automotive parts supplier after a devastating tornado destroys most of their building.
2020
Truform purchases additional 135 ton press brake capacity and launches pool heater frame and exhaust fabrication program
2021
Truform further expands its fabrication capability to by adding another Amada fiber laser, Amada press brake and Amada turret press
2021
Truform adds 3 Axis Haas CNC mill capability
